win2003 SP1 Std indexing service - weirdness

Hello
I found two weird things on W2003Sp1 index service:

- created simple catalogue (one directory) and started it. I can see total
docs:6810, Docs to index: 15550. Is it indexing each document 2.5 times to
be sure :-O

- The catalogue did not work AT ALL when the directory had localized
characters in it (Úèetnictví - U-acute, c-caron, i-acute)

Any comments pls?

Seems I got the reason: I checked "Add network shares automatically". As the
directory does is shared it has been recognized TWICE:

- first time as local directory
- 2nd time as the same directory being shared !!!

so it even appeared twice under directories (with and without share). I
deleted whole catalogue, re-entered the directorry filling in the share UNC
_manually_. Looks much better now (scanning real number of docs)!

One more night to go...
