Abstracts not showing for PDF's

For some reason the abstract/characterization data is not showing for Adobe
PDF files although the files are being returned in the queries and the
abstracts seem to be showing up for the MS Office docs. Is there a seperate
setting or registry entry that will enable the abstract/characterization data
(e.g. the first 320 characters of the doc, etc...) to show in the field for
PDF's ? TIA ..

fixed this one - not sure which one of these (or both) did it but i
reinstalled the adobe ifilter6 after first stopping the indexing services
service and then i also installed the adobe acrobat reader on the server
(which was not previously installed). works like a champ now ...
