Hi,

Just wondering in regards to the Windows 2003 Indexing service, is it
possible to make it only index during set hours or schedule, because at
the moment even if i have it on the lowest performance tuning settings
it still slows the server down heaps by reading the disks seemingly
constantly indexing everything which in turn slows down file sharing
etc... this would be ok if it only did this at nighttime as the users
don't search much...

If this is not possible with Microsoft's indexing service, is there a
third party program for Windows 2003 server which would permit this or
offer a similar file searching service?

Thanks in advance.

you can schedule net cisvc pause and net cisvc continue to stop indexing and
restart it.
