Gurus,

Recently we noticed that the index catelog files (*.CI) used by the indexing
services located in the InetPub\Catalog.wci folder were huge. eg: 3GB!
what could have caused this to be so big? or is this normail?

Hi Hilary,

Thanks for the response.
What I did was I stopped the indexing service for the time being. the system
is a w2k3 box with IIS6. I am a newbee and scared whether I understood what
you meant by master merge.

however note that although this box has everything setup, the web
application is not in use although the file size went up like this!

Right click on your catalog and select all tasks and merge.
