I'm sure I'm doing something horribly, obviously wrong (I hope so), so
please feel free to point it out!
I've set up Index Server on Win2003 under IIS 6. I've created two
catalogs. Each has a single directory, and that physical directory
contains only TXT files. The first one, for example, contains 1,413 TXT
files - yet the Index Server MMC shows only 5 total docs in the
catalog. Huh?
The TXT files quite definitely have text in them - some 7.26 MB worth,
total.
File permissions on the directory provide read permissions for both the
LocalSystem account that Index Server is running under, and for the IIS
anonymous user account. Searching using the MMC's "Query the Catalog"
page returns zilch for any search. LocalSystem actually has "Full
Control," as per usual.
A forced re-scan of the directory results in exactly the same thing -
even days later (I do realized Index Server takes some time to get
itself together).
Any idea what's wrong?
