Unspecified error with Index Server

Hello!
I have Index Server in a Server,let's call Server A, with Windows
Server 2003, there I have several catalogs that are pointed from a web
site hosted in this same server.
When I execute the code that uses Index Server for searching pages in
this web site it stays like looking for the Index Server or whatever
and sends the message Unspecified error.
But if this same web site I host it in another Server(in the same NET),
let's call Server B, and use the same code to access the catalogs
hosted in Server A it works fine.
I have revised all about permissions and have everything ok.
Any ideas? Why the catalogs don't respond if I ask for them from the
same Server?Is it something about the name of the Server?

this is similar to the issue we have posted but Microsoft seems reluctant or
unable to answer.
